Set up unattended access
Configure a computer password and readiness settings to reach your Windows PC without local approval.
Set up on the host computer
- Install and open the current Windows app. Sign in to the intended workspace.
- Open This computer and choose the unattended-access setup action.
- Enter and confirm a unique computer password. The current Windows setup accepts 12–128 characters. Use a different password from your Deskbat account.
- Review Start Deskbat with Windows if you want the app to start at Windows sign-in. Check the readiness information shown in This computer.
- Keep the PC awake and online, then test from your viewing device. Choose the computer or enter its ID and use the computer password.
Who can use the password?
Signed-in people with the computer’s ID and unattended password can connect, including people outside your workspace. Share it only with people you intend to authorize. A saved password on your viewer is still an access credential.
Stop access when needed
End a session to stop that connection. Pause sharing on the host to prevent incoming access. Review the app’s password and saved-password settings when access arrangements change. Locking Windows alone does not pause unattended access.
